How do I become an On-Site Performance Artist?

HAI schedules about 200 live performances each month by professional performing groups. In an effort to broaden and expand our artist roster we are interested in small performing groups, primarily solos, duos, and trios, that are self-contained and have a cohesive, one hour performance.

As a performing artist or group, there are several ways to join HAI's On-Site Performance Program. The first thing to do is send materials to us (see address below). This may include, but is not limited to, printed information about your program, promotional material, CDs, audio tapes and video tapes. After receiving your package we will evaluate your materials and you will be notified by mail. There are four possible outcomes:

  • Your materials indicate that your performance does not suit our program guidelines.
  • You are offered a performance date based on your materials.
  • You are asked for a schedule of your upcoming performance dates, so that we may have it audited.
  • You are invited to our next audition.

If you are invited to audition please keep in mind:

  • You must provide your own accompaniment.
  • You are responsible for bringing all instrumentation and equipment. A piano will be available for your accompanist if needed.
  • Your scheduled audition time will be approximately ten minutes including set up and audition.
  • Soundtracks are unacceptable, except for dance auditions.

Please send your materials to:
