EVERETTE
BALL
Friends at the National Park #2
Colored pencil and ink on paper, 15” x 22”.
Born and raised in New
York City, Mr. Ball is now 25. Ball is diagnosed with autism. While
he reads at 3rd grade level, he does algebra, and is superb at deductive
reasoning.
Mr. Ball always drew
as a child. Early on he started to draw his surroundings. This led
to including the people he knew, and later, virtually anyone who
crossed his path showed up in his drawings. His current landscapes
reflect his summer vacations in Upstate New York.
His high school teacher,
Jackie Lipton, first noticed his extraordinary talent to capture
his surroundings. She encouraged him all through high school and
she did not forget him after his high school graduation. She zealously
pursued finding a place where he could continue making art. Mr.
Ball is now a member of HAI’s Saturday Studio, and his second
Survey exhibition.
