HARPER DEERING HAIR

Harper Deering Hair began drawing, painting and writing poetry almost non-stop when he experienced the onset of mental illness. He experiments with different media. His paintings are large and expansive combining acrylic, gouache, colored pencil and collage, while his small sketchbooks reflect a delicacy and attention to detail.

"My artwork proves me with a healthful peace of mind, helping me with my disability each day. I am very influenced by experiences of others and myself living with mental illness and have done pieces in an effort to show the need for caring and sensitivity to others.”
